Bishop Edgar L. Vann, II

From the cathedral to the civic arena, from the echelons of global ministry to the marketplace, Bishop Edgar Leo Vann II, has influenced generations and made an indelible impact with a body of work worthy of emulation. His ministry has touched tens of thousands as he has led, guided, pastored, and given covering for over 47 years. The resplendence of his calling and service is representative of the grace that rests on his life.
Bishop Vann has served as the distinguished pastor of the Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit Michigan for 45 years. A powerful preacher, teacher, thought leader, and master communicator, Bishop Vann has used his multiplicity of gifts to advance the Kingdom of God. His legacy of service exists to actualize personal development, transformational change, and to crosspollinate the influence of faith across denominational lines and secular areas.
He is the Presiding Prelate and Establishmentarian of The Kingdom Alliance Covenant Fellowship International, which exists to raise pastors and leaders in covenant relationship; to resource and strengthen the local church; and to advance the Kingdom. Bishop Vann served for several years as Executive Board Member of the Joint College of African American Bishops and is a spiritual father to many.

His work in the community is legendary. He serves and has served on multiple boards – corporate, civic, and non-profit. He is founder of the Vanguard Community Development Corporation which has produced over 50 million dollars of community and economic development, housing, and commercial property over the last 27 years. Bishop Vann is most proud of the Second Ebenezer Church built under his leadership in 2007 at a cost of 25 million dollars which stands as a landmark in the heart of the City of Detroit. Awards, resolutions, honors, and accolades too numerous to mention, and yet a common touch of humility and compassion are representative of his spirit.
Bishop Vann has been married to his loyal, gifted, and devoted wife, Elder Sheila R. Vann for over 43 years. They are the proud parents of Edgar Vann, III and Ericka Ridgeway who have both distinguished themselves in corporate America.
